My Rainbow Tort

I've had one for a couple years of that coloration, but I also be it's an austera. Very nice addition.

If that is what colors you have, then you have a different coral or it has not colored up yet. This one has bright blue polyps and tips more yellow than my WWC Yellow Tip (both yellows have a tint of green (all do, right?) and this one is more yellow). The branches go from teal down the stalks to purple at the tips.

I got out my Veron book and took some closer up pictures. This is the same coral as whatever the ORA Tort is. Neither is Acropora Tortuosa as outlined on page 265 of Veron's 1st book. I don't know what they are though, I don't really care.

One of these is ORA Tort, the other is this one:

I think it's the same coral. Mine was grown from a frag and I showed a pic. It is the same colors as yours. Definatly colored up (in the picture at least).

Mpoletti, do you have any pictures of yours?

JDA, where did you get yours?

I have seen some locally that appear to be the same. However, these acros have bulbus tips, not square ones and the corallites and branches are not the same. The closest thing that I have seen is the picture in post #15, but since the owners describes it as yellowish-green and purple, I don't know since the rest of the coral is out of focus (beautiful shot with very nice bokeh, but not good for close examination).

bcamp - you will get some eventually. It is growing like an ORA Tort, so I will have plenty soon.

Sorry, I don't think I have any pictures. I know that the few people I've shared it with and who've grown it out, they also think it's a yellow tip austera. Definitely a cool piece.
