Hmmm.....yes, I would love pics. I've seen their acrylic work but have yet to see their glass tanks. Are you getting a PVC bottom?

Tank is currently in my garage because my neighbor and I couldn't get it through the door. Will try front door tomorrow. Stand was custom built my a new friend of mine name Reggie out of Augusta Georgia. Here are few goodies that came in today also

What thickness glass did they use. They quoted me 1/2 inch on 48/48/24 rimless...

most places wont build 48x48x24 rimless on 1/2" glass. Usually now they will only build 20" tall tops on 1/2" glass for a 4ft tank.

Every other builder used 3/4 in their quotes.
Miracles. Coast to coast. Glasscages.. Reefsavvy.
Was just curious as to why the difference is all

sorry for going OT on the OP thread.

rimless using 3/4" glass for saftey reasons. The taller the tank, the thicker glass is needed. My 60x30x23" is 3/4" starphire glass. Heavy as hell. 3/4" starphire is a lot more expensive than 1/2" as well. Tallest they will build is about 24" too.

Eurobraced, you could go 72x36x27" without issue on 1/2" glass. Marineland 300DD is 1/2" glass.

Yeah sorry to jack read. Was just wondering what made MRC want to use 1/2 inch glass is all. I have seen a few photos of their tanks though and they are nice looking

sorry for delay. tank is still in garage mainly due to pounding rain out and my best buddy's work schedule. tank will fit thru garage door but stand will have to go through front barely. tank is 1/2 glass with acrylic overflow and pvc bottom as stated and is extremely heavy. cannot get these pics to upload for nothing. MRC sump should be here by this weekend along with return pump. Still pondering on skimmer, only options are reef octopus 5000 or 6000 in-sump or MRC reeflo. I pretty much have everything else as far as lighting which will be 4 AI vega's and flow will be powered from mp10's and 40's es. This tank will be SPS dominant also!

I thought a key selling point of hybrid tank is lighter tank w the PVC bottom. Is that not true?
