Crosshatch committed air suicide. Lesson learned. I'll be a tang and anthias guy until my 500 gallon build in 2015. Maybe a gem tang if the price is right.

What is the water depth where the skimmer is?
Is the skimmer free of micro bubbles?

7 inches of water. Skimmer is on a stand. Eliminated micro bubbles by raising to 7 inches. Will be raising skimmer 2 more inches once I plumb in refugium section of sump

So if you have it lower it will have micro bubbles?
I am looking at this skimmer as well but I am at 8 inches of water. Wondering if running at 8 inches if that would cause over flow or micros.

Any reason for choosing the SRO vs the Diablo with DC pump?

let me reinterate. 1. the skimmer itself was not causing micro bubbles, the water level in my sump coupled with a very high return rate through my return pump was causing micro bubbles so i raised the water level in my sump drastically to fix this but at the same time i needed to raise the skimmer itself so it could be efficient. will be looking to raise the skimmer another inch because ill have to raise the sump flow level in order to plump the refugium section. I chose the SRO 3000 because of the capacity rating vs what sized tank i was running plus the workmanship of the reef octopus skimmers.
