about 5 days ago i couldnt find him which was very strange, especially since he always comes out at feeding time.... so i moved some rocks around, thinking me might have gotten stuck.

he swam out looking alittle strange. dull in color.

since then he is hiding 95% of the time, and he hasnt eaten, atleast i havent seen him eat.

today when he popped out i tried feeding him and he swims around almost like he lost his eye sight,

he is breathing heavy and swimming veritically at times.

any idea what is going on here?

i have had him for 4 months or so. no changes in tank at all in months. just algea problems and about 200 little cerith snails were born about 3 weeks ago

ph 8.2
ammonia 0
nitrites 0
nitrates 15

Has any corals, inverts or other fish been added to the tank in the last 6 weeks?

nope, no corals in tank yet, and i just have 3 fish, all of which have been in there for months together with no problems.

as i metioned though i have about 200 new baby cerith snails.

Since nothing has been added it's either environmental or pathological (bacterial infection, etc). Have you tried a water change? Are you providing enough oxygen? How are you aerating the water?
