thanks guys! haha not new to photography, but new to aquarium photography. i really enjoy taking photos of nice reef tanks.

unfortunately our tank is kind of dead right now, trying to revive it. we dont have a chiller, so most of the corals died during the summer :(

the clam from the pic above just died couple days ago. i didnt know those little hermit crabs will eat them. bastards!

the yellow tang above isnt doing so well. all he does is hide behind rocks and doesnt eat even when i put some brine shrimp in there.

I thought your yellow looked a little thin. Sorry about that :/
I'd say there is a 99% chance the hermit crabs didn't start chowing down on the clam until after it died though.
But man, GREAT photography! :)

great pics, i really like the cardinal especially how the tail is out of focus and i like the lighting on the lawnmower blenny portrait.

sorry to hear that your tank isn't doing so great right now, hit me up for a frag or two when it makes a recovery I'm in Seal Beach so its not too far... LMK

we got the yellow tang the same day with the clam and frogspawn. so the pics was when we first had him. he seemed like he was doing well, swimming around with the other fishes.

the 1st day we got it, we set it higher on the rocks, it fell in the night and my roommate found it on the bottom, the hermits were all over it. after that, it wasnt the same anymore. it was like half alive, wasnt opened all the way, then it just died couple days after.

Great photos! Welcome to saltwater! Not sure which (photography vs. reefkeeping) takes the cake as the most expensive hobby but they are surely #1 and #2. What camera/lens are you using if you don't mind me asking?

nice stuff. Good luck with the tank revival. Look forward to more of your stuff around here. It's fun place to hang out, show your own, or look at other people's stuff.

hey Benny: i have a canon 1d mark ii, used 17-40mm 4.0 L, nikkor 60mm 2.8 macro, 28-135mm 3.5/5.6, and extension tubes with a 50mm 1.8 lens.

whatever it takes for me to get the shot i need!

thanks all for the great words! i do look forward to take more shots as we add more to our tank. i will get a full tank shot soon after some cleaning.

Have you tried feeding it nori? Nice shots btw.

havent tried that yet. will probably try today or tomorrow.

i have monitored the yellow tang, when the lights are off, the tang comes out.
