Standard store bought durso's painted flat black with Krylon Fusion.
I have three 1" drains. One goes directly to the refugium inside the stand and is not on a durso, just a bulkhead with a gate valve to control flow. The second drain is the workhorse, its the shortest durso you see in that pic and it leads directly to the sump in the garage. The third durso is about 1 1/2" above the second as an emergency drain.

Update:
I just spoke with my stand builder. He is hoping to have my stand ready on Friday and I have this Friday off for the 4th.
Hopefully I can get it plumbed on Friday and get water moving through it.
I've already bought three large SPS colonies at my LFS and I also have to get my live rock out of their holding tanks!! I was by there today and I think that rock has already been there a month.
Also just bought an Aqua Medic twin doser for my two part.

cham, are both pumps going to drain back to the sump thru the two(really one) duroso's? It looks like both pumps are sucking from the return side of your sump. Wont that be a huge amount of flow for the duroso's to handle? Why not the panworld on the sump and the reeflo on a closed loop? Maybe an ocean motion?
Just curious? I was thinking about ditching the tunze nano's and doing a closed loop, up from the bottom.

The panworld is just a back up pump incase the Snapper has an issue. I'll also use it for removing water from the tank for water changes.
My set up is a closed loop hybrid of sorts. I'm running it all through the over flow box. I'm not exactly sure how much gph I'll be able to use from the snapper. I have ball valves on the return lines and I will tune it to give me the most flow my tank will handle without total sand storms. With the refugium taking about 500 gph that will leave aproximately 1000 to 1500 gph for the "work horse" durso which I understand isn't a problem.

I've had both and I really prefer the features, easy programming, compact size and most of all dependable temp probes from RK.
Its been found on more than a few threads that the aqua controller temp probes fail more often than the RK. At $50 per temp probe the AC are expensive to replace too. The RK's probe is only $20 so I just replace it every year.
I've had both the RK and the AC II on my tank
If your going with the RK, bulkreefsupply.com (RC sponsor) has the best prices on the net for them. Spring for the Pinpoint PH probe too, I've had great luck with those lasting a very long time.
