I bought a small rock of green striped shrooms when I first got my tank cycled and they were doing great for about 2 months then started running everywhere. I even had one make it from one side of my 55 gallon to the other and up 10" of my rockwork. Now I have them randomly scattered about the tank.

sick shroom

Thanks!

thats what i want to happen to mine! i wouldnt mind them naturaly scattered around, one already jumped off the rock completely and is attached to the bottom of a near by rock, its hard to see it because my green striped is covering it.

Poor feather duster is about to be outted.

So i'm setting up a 29 gallon myself and have some questions. What are you using fgor lighting, and flow (2 k1's right?) and what are you using for your return pump? Also can i be bold and ask for a FTS? Thanks in advance.

I wish i could help ya out there, mine doesnt seem to be overly blue, maybe you need new bulbs? its been almost 8 months on these bulbs of mine, i gotta change mine out already, but its never been overly blue. Maybe the black background might have something to do with it, what color is your background?

well hate to say it but the fixture and bulbs is only about 5 days old so it couldnt be that...and as for the background i dont have one

Not to take the spotlight "but", I have been running a 29gal for about 2yrs now and things are good. I have 1 koralia1 and 1 koralia 2, a 700 mag drive for return with 10 gallon sump with heater and a 70gallon acrylic skimmer with a 500gph powerhead that I only run 10hrs a day. I have a 120w t5ho with 3 12000k and 2 actinics. It has taken alot of time and $$ but I am now sincerely happy with my settup.

Nice looking mushrooms. I have some green rhodactus that are very similar to yours, with slightly different bumps. Mine have been in my tank about two years, and have multiplied from 3 inital polyps to around twenty now.

Original three polyps.

ok thanks for the answer mine is the same i think it may just need a few weeks to kinda "break in"

i recently started dosing bionic 2 part and these mushrooms have exploded in growth, i used to run my tank with 400-420ppms calcium, now i bumped it up to 440-450ppms.

i'll post up pics when the tank lights come on tomorrow.

I have some greens that look pretty much the same. Only difference is I have some wild LEDs giving them the crazy color.

Shrooms want nutrient rich water just like Zoas and other softies. I've actually had them get out of hand with heavily fish stocked tanks.

What's funny is I still see purple shrooms command rather high prices, and they used to multiply like rabbits in my old 55 when nitrate averaged around 40ppm.
