Let me give you a little history lesson.

The American League came into existence in 1903 and the Yankees were there under the name of the Highlanders. They changed their name to the Yankees in 1913 when they moved from Hilltop Park to the Polo grounds.

The World series started in 1903. There was no Series played in 1904 and 1994 therefore there have been 102 World Series played.

Out of ALL 102 World Series played, the Yankees have appeared in 39 or 38.24%, 2.3 times more than any other team.

They have won 26 or 25.5%, 2.6 times more than any other team.

The New York Yankees are considered the most successful franchise in sports history.

When you make it to the Big Dance as often as the Yankees, more than any other team, you're bound to have some records even the not so good ones.

Steroid violations? Step away from the kool-aid! I'd love to see some actual facts to back that statement up?

Highest budget, so what? If you want to play in the big leagues you have to pay the big boys! They pay the luxury tax for it too.

Most hates...or should that be hated? Not by their fans only those jealous of their achievements. When you dominate your sport as they have over the years there's bound to be people who are resentful.

Last Win: 2000 against who? The MUTS! Oh and we also won it in 1999 & 1998. That's a recent 3peat.

Don't know how old you are but If I remember correctly you're either in high school or just finished so let's go back the last 12 years, since there was no Series played in 1994 because of the strike, just to make it easy on you.

In the last 12 World Series, the Yankess have appeared in 6, half of them, 50%. the Yankees have won 4, 33% of ALL world Series since 1995. That's a better record than all the World Series.

Who's next the Atlanta Braves who have appeared in 3 Series, half of what the Yankees have, and won 1, a quarter of what the Yankees have. And the funny thing is the Braves have the BRASS to call themselves America's Team, HA, what a laugh. :lol:

You people make this debate entirely too easy, it's like debating a lib, all emotion and no facts to back up your statements!

I went back 12 years just because I wanted to keep it within your lifetime and IQ.

Your logic is flawed as no matter how you slice and dice it the Yankees ARE the most successful franchise in sports history, that's ANY sport.

"4 since '96 big deal"...YES a HUGE deal considering the Marlins come in second with only 2 wins, again the Yankees have twice as many WS wins than any other team during that time.

Now let me answer the question and make you look even more foolish.

The Yankees did not appear in a World Series until 1921 so you can scratch the first 2 decades.

The 80's, when you were barely a twinkle in mommy and daddy's eyes, was definitely our worst decade since the turn of the century but hey, we did make one appearance and there are many teams that have never been to the WS.

The 90's well the Braves made it more often but could only seal the deal once to our 3 so I'd say YANKEES!

The new millenium, one team is equal but there's still 2 Series to go.

So young grasshopper, since the 1920's, 9 decades, the Yankees have DOMINATED every decade except 2, the 70's and 80's. Their most wins in a decade were the 50's, followed by the 30's, 40's, a tie between the 20's and 90's and you can't compare this decade to the 60's and 70's since it's not complete.

As far as old...age is a mindset, I still feel like I'm 18! Sometimes the body doesn't cooperate but the wisdom acquired over the years tends to make up for that.

Wisdom, young man is the knowledge one gains by learning from their mistakes, something I'm not sure you will ever acquire.

Finally, words of wisdom for you:
