My speckled white yellow tang...

What does this look like?

Under the white light he looks fine but when the whites go out and its just the royal blue and UV the white spots just pop. He also has a cloudy eye.

I just can't see this as being a normal look for a yellow tang just because he's under the blue lights.

This fish is very sick and needs a hospital tank with Cupramine treatment stat. He appears to have a very severe case of ich, the eye could be secondary infection or even flukes. Get the ich taken care of and keep a close watch on that eye. Make sure he's getting plenty of greens to eat, and good luck. There are some great stickies here with a lot of helpful information regarding quarantine and treatment if you don't already know.

Well the transfer was complete to the QT.

I'm sure some of the ich has landed in the DT. The other day I picked up a coralife 12x turbo twist UV sterilizer which is over sized for my tank but should be just right for my flow. Now this thing should help kill the ich that may go looking for a new host, hopefully getting sucked into the sump and thru the unit. Right?

There is no question that ich has infected your tank. The only way to eliminate it is to remove its hosts and let it go fishless for 8-10 weeks. Any other fish you have in the DT are susceptible, if not already infected.

+1 YTs are tough fish, most fish in this condition would have been dead by now.

Fallow 10-12 weeks may even be called for; I've gone to 12 weeks now, based on this Snorvich sticky: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2041951

UV does not, and cannot, prevent or cure ich. Read the ich stickies, knowing the life cycle of your enemy will give you a lot of info.

I would suggest in such a heavy infestation using a chloroquine source to treat. Copper can take a while to have effect. As far as I'm aware chloroquine is much much quicker to act. Aim for a dosage of about 15-20mg/L of chloroquine phosphate, or alternatively use something which I think may be found more readily for you, which is quinine sulphate, here in the UK I can buy CP in the form of avlochlor, which is an anti-malarial, so that may be something to look for, make sure the anti-malarial tablets state chloroquine phosphate ONLY. Other US residents may be able to advise better a source of CP.
