Been a while since I updated.

Trying to find the right balance to maintain alkalinity around 8.0. Test alk at around 9 pm so testing right now gave me a reading of 8.6 but still 12 hours til I usually test.

Other numbers look good!

pH: 8.2
Salinity: 1.025
Alk: *8.6 (will retest at 9ish tonight)
Calcium: 440
Magnesium: 1360
Nitrate: ~4ppm
PO4: 0

Here is a photo of my nitrate test. Would like this down to 1-2ppm but we will get there.

Corals look good. Seeing solid growth on the stylophora and the green slimer is back being green though I don't see any polyps out. My cliffs acro is fully encrusted the plug when it broke off and starting to grow vertical now. The nauti looks good, and the sunset montipora is growing and encrusting more every day. A few pieces that had turned really pale have regained their color and a piece of the cliffs acro that broke off looks like that will recover as the bright green tint is coming back. There is a section that lost tissue, which I am hoping will be grown over.

All in all, doing great. It's been about 6 months since I added these corals and the tank has been running since late July. Seeing massive amounts of coralline algae on the pukani rock.

About the only thing I have changed is, I don't fiddle with anything. Haven't touched the light or moved anything in a long time.

I wouldn’t worry in the slightest about your current n reading.
No fiddling = stability and stability is key to a happy reef.
Good to hear things are doing well

Sounds like rhings are coming into check, good job. No3 increasingbis from not doing a water change and 4 ppm is totally fine. Keep it up.

I change 12.5 gallons every week and once a month 30%.

I didn't realize how much the stylophora has grown. I looked at some old pics, and it has a significant amount of growth.
