My SPS propagation setup, in progress

OK here is the first thing out of my raceway.

It was a brownish/red mille colony that was given to me by nysbadmk8 when he broke down his tank. It was in the raceway from 4/20/2004. I just took it out of the raceway and put it in the main tank today.

Man did it color up!! I really was blown away by how nice it is now.

Great thread, and awesome fish room. I'm from long Island too--would love to get a tour some day.
The colors on your corals are incredible whats your secret? Do you belong to any local reef clubs and where do you purchase those amazing corals?

Is that growth in the prop tank just from when you started or were those frags close ot the same size?

In other words, how's the growth going?

JB NY, why do you think it colored up more in your tank when coming from your raceway?

Growth in the prop tank is good. That was a colony to begin with. It didn't grow too much maybe 1/4 - 1/2" at the most.

The raceway has heavy 10K light, heavy actinics. Very heavy water motion. There are no fish to pick at it, no crabs to bother it. It's only purpose is to grow acros. I think the color might come out in the main tank, but there are more things to bother the coral in the main tank as well. Also it looked to be coloring up real nice in the raceway, but the corals are so close and in such shallow water that it's not the best viewing for the coral.

Cool..Sounds good. I do like the color.

I can't wait until I get my table saw so I can start builind some acrylic stuff :D

My tank was taken down in June. I am planning on a new one right now. Hopefully up by November.
