Don't think a sting would get raised like that. They are raised bumps right?

your pictures aren't doing it for me. do they look like pimples that are part of the skin or does it appear to be attached to the scales? from what i think i'm seeing in your pics it dosen't look anything like parasitic copepods or flukes.
(tangs have very small scales)

I do have a QT tank setup I can fire up if need be..
I have two carpet anenomes but I dont think these are stings...
Yes they do seem to be raised off the skin...external parasites maybe?
I have not had good luck catching him yet...my tank is 600 gallon and its pretty hard.
They look like oval egg sacs or something... and they appear to change color when the fish does... So I guess their emebedded in his skin??? Two nights ago I saw him come out of his hiding hole, and it appeared like he had sand or something all over him in that area, so I paid it no attention I thought he would eventually get the stuff off. But then this morning I got up and there still there.

Well this link shows a picture of a parasitic isopod which is the closest thing I have seen to what is on my tang... So maybe a freshwater dip would be the best plan of action... Too bad I have not been able to catch him yet... Ive tried three times throughout the day...
That looks like what my tang had. Just got the tang, put him in the hospital tank for a few weeks and everything was fine. Put him in the main tank and broke out with what looks like to pimples with in hours. Removed and put back in hospital and it went away with in hours. Couple days later I put back in main tank and once again it came back with in hours. Removed and put back in to hospital for 4 weeks and all was fine. 2 days ago I put him back in main tank and with in hours once again it came back and still has it. I think I will leave him in main tank for a while to see what happens.
He's eating great and seems to be doing fine, goes to the cleaner shrimp quite often though. He also sometimes itches himself on the rock though.

He was also in the hospital tank the hole 4 weeks with other fish and none of them came down with it....just confused on what it is. Talked to the LFS and they are at a loss too.

Catching him proved to be impossible, I decided to just let him be, seeing he was still very active and eating as usual. I come back home from Thanksgiving holidays out of town, and its all cleared up...so I am guessing whatever it was, either run its course or the Tang was able to fight it.
All in all I am certainly pleased, its not very often these sorts of things, for me anyways, turns into a positive situation... I would have surely missed this fish If he would have passed.
