My tank build thread - Dual 40s

Thanks adam! I really like the dimensions of the tank. My goal was to have as few obstructions to the eye as possible, despite the Tunze guru's objections :p

My coral stocking list is complete...the last frag pack from Rommel just arrived. Once I get my tank cycled (I'm emptying the skimmer cup at least 2x a day!!!) I will be able to move everything out of Fade's tank and into mine :D

Here's an updated FTS...please ignore the algae...the rocks were uncured, then were cured, and are still leeching some stuff out. It's actually kind of interesting to see the different types of algae, but on the other hand I would appreciate it if they didn't crowd out my corals. You can see my algae eating molly (fingers crossed) in the background. Most of the frags on the sandbed will be going into another tank shortly...I think there are only one or two that need to be glued somewhere.

Thanks :) I've got some more sps to put in and of course some more fish, then I'm just going to let everything grow out.

Ahh...for some reason I thought the tank was here in StL and you were moving back to Columbia for Vet School....my mistake..

Ok, so here's a mini-update:

I took a pair of bone cutters to the algae and managed to get nearly all of it off. I also glued the remaining frags on my sandbed that are staying in my tank to my rockwork and brought home two of the frags that Chad was babysitting...a blue milli and a pink milli. Yesterday I added a tiny frag of purple cap too. I've got backup frags of everything (since they were being babysat for so long they encrusted quite well) so if I kill anything I won't be at a total loss :D This is my first venture into the realm of the colored sticks after all

Here's what I've currently got in there fish-wise:
-true perc
-2 neon gobies
-yellow clown goby
-molly (will not stay in display for long, after the algae is for sure gone it'll be moved to the sump or will be used in another tank)

Here's what I hope to add:
-red headed goby
-blue clown goby (I've seen pics of these online 2x...hope to get my hands on one)
-2 Spot (bimaculatus) blenny
-Red striped goby
-masked goby
-Potters angel (it's at Fade32's right now)
- Axelrodi's clown blenny (odds of me finding this one is 1 in a million)
-Tailspot Blenny
-One more true perc

This is a hefty fish list I realize, but two of them will be nearly impossible to find and the Tailspot Blenny is a maybe. Also, most of these guys stay under 2".

I have a bicolor goby, an oscellaris clown, a perc clown, firefish, flasher wrasse. the bicolor is about 3.5 inches long, the osc. is almost 2.5 inches, the perc is about 1.5#, the firefish is about 3.5 inches.

They're not big, but neither is the tank. Right now the only two that fight are the clowns. I don't think really fight, they just wrestle for a second then leave each other alone the rest of the day. The osc. clown mostly picks on my colt coral and hairy shroom. He eats the mess out of those two corals.

I'm just saying that's a lot of bio load for someone wanting to keep SPS. But what do I know? Not a whole lot honestly.
