My tank got slimed

Yesterday my tank looked normal, today it looks like slimer from Ghostbusters made a pass through, or that an underwater spider started weaving an underwater web. Anyone know what could have caused this?

That isnt a piece of a leather or soft coral in your powerhead is it??? That surely would cause what your seeing in those pics.

any spikes? i would consider a die off frpm lack of nutrition or a lack of iodine and calcium causing ableach out. first clean all intakes and test water ASAP...ammonia ,ph, and nitrates are needed asap and we can then go from there.

other than that if flow is low then tube worms that feed using a web like spit can cover ever ich for filtering. thus looking like a webbed out area but this seems epidemic

first step clean up those intakes and test all parameters. flow looks like it would help but need test results to find plan of action.

ok reading post it happened over night...should clear up in a day if increased then worry. could be a day of filter feeding for worms so wait for improvement.

If it was only in one small area, then I'd suspect Vermetid snails. But this looks like too much in too many places to be the work of those.

could be alot of causes. first we need levels of ammonia.nitrates, and ph. next salinity level and dosing schedue for any other stock/tank.
