TDS in the source water will vary with time. I would really encourage you not to use tap water.

that should tell you something right there buy an RO/DI if you want your tank to thrive
 
Actually other than chlorine NYC water out of the faucet has a TDS of like 1. It is amazing water.

Thats why we have the Best Pizza..

Your drive an hour away and it is like they lost the recipe.

So its the water that gives New York Pizza its taste that explaines alot. You might want to try Chicago pizza where cheese, sausage and sauce give pizza most of its flavour:D
