The return pipe was a one inch pvc - which i had set up so that a clamp held it to the back of the stand. Aparently, in doing so i applied pressure...

The tank cracked from the top to the bottom.

sigh... so now i need to find a new tank. Damn, it looked good with the rock in there.. the aquascaping was nice... i had already been able to picture the tank with coral...

Smaller tanks are easy to break IME I have cracked a few :mad2:

I found the best thing when plumbing tanks with thinner glass is to tighten the bulkheads last because it doesn't take much to crack them.
