My TBS Tank

Strangest thing, I didn't have to do any water changes on the first shipment. Ammonia spiked but remained under 1 for 7 days. It wasn't until the 2nd shipment that my ammonia really spiked (something or somethings must have died that i couldn't find). I used 2 test kits to confirm and it was ridiculously high in the 3-4ppm range for 3-4 days. So I had to do 3 water changes to keep that down along with dosing with Seachem Prime to neutralize the ammonia and nitrites. That worked and everything stayed alive.

My first shipment cycled in about 5 days and never got above 1ppm so no water changes were needed. But after it cycled my nitrates and phosphate were really high so I did a 50% water change. Richard sent part 1 on the early flight and I picked it up as soon as it landed so maybe that helped reduce die off. I hope I'm as lucky with part 2.

This rock is amazing! I started using a magnifying glass to check stuff out once the water cleared... just incredible how much life is on even these 'base' rocks!

yep, like i said i'm still finding new life just about everyday! oh and that thing i thought was a sea slug? i guess it is a polyclad flatworm so i'll have to get him out if i see him again...luckily i've not lost any of the snails i bought yet...you take the good with the bad, i got a nice sally lightfoot and about 3 porcelain crabs that i've counted so far...every time i go to the LFS i'm so tempted to buy fish but i still have to starve out these isopods which, thankfully, i haven't seen since Memorial Day weekend...so far nothing Richard has sent me has died except for the large decorator crab which i had to let go because he started eating my red mushrooms and one of the flowers anemones...i'm not sure what happened to the anemone, i just came home one day and he was laying sideways with one of his sides ripped open and his guts spewing out...he was still partly alive so i quarantined him but he didn't last long at all and the water just started smelling bad so i i couldn't save him...other than that even the sponges are doing just fine as well as the gorgonian

Beautiful, where did you get it?

cherrycorals.com got a shipment of these fathead dendros around 2 weeks ago and i was lucky to have nabbed these 2, there were only 3 frags left...the big one is about 1.5" across when open! they absolutely love to eat and get real plump after each feeding...they pretty much stay open at all times unless disturbed and i target feed them along with all my other corals every mon-wed-fri

EDIT: whoa, looks like they got rhizo's in...way too expensive for me...that white one is gorgeous!
