im workinkg on the po4 and i just did a 15 gallon water change yesterday on the 40 gallon tank so that bumped my ca up. i have 12 sps frags so that will go down soon.
Magnesium? And keep that alkalinity stable. I like to keep mine around 10-11 dKH as its a little more forgiving if it creeps up a bit due to my Ca reactor.
WOW. Wasn't your our alkalinity was half that level 2 days ago? What brought it up so high so quickly? Raising or lowering it too quickly is really risky with SPS.
I meant to mention the other day that I've had issues with inconsistent parameters with reef crystals. The granules can settle during transit. The folks on this board recommended either making larger batches of water (like 50 gallons at a time in one container) or stirring the dry salt by shifting it between a couple of other dry buckets. I've gotten more consistent mixes from doing it this way.
There all good imo. Alk a little high. Change em slowly. particularly alk. PO4 at .05ppm is ok unless you have a nuisance algae problem. FWIW I run calcium near 500ppm,no problem.Might work on the O3 a little.
i got a used test kit for free for my alk didnt realise i could use my dkh in my api test kit for meq/L. i used the old test and it said my dkh is 7. if this is wrong let me know.
the results today are all with my api tests that are less then 4 months old.
Speaking of api alkalinity testing... The directions say to note when the water sample turns from blue to yellow... Is it when it first turns from blue to a greenish yellow, bright yellow? They don't make it very clear.
