Maybe the males prefer pink flake food and the females prefer green seaweed
Also, is that a no on both accounts? No substrate then?
Nope, I've never seen a SINGLE red/orange Trigger Pod who was carrying eggs. The pods who carry the eggs are all grey/green.
I don't have any substrate in the pod farm.

Yes and color has absolutely nothing to do with it sorry to say. Color has to do with environmental conditions and feed source.
Males have hooks on their antennae.

Oh, ok. Also, in the wild, where I was, they are all completely red/orange... I wonder what they have to eat to turn red/orange... Got any ideas GreshamH?

Well, I'm upgrading my Tigger Pod farm! lol I'm upgrading to a 180 gallon tank! The 180 gallon tank is the one that cracked. I patched it up real well, its been holding freshwater for 1 week with no leaks so far! I siliconed the inside, outside, then siliconed an acrilic corner, and I put a strap around the tank. It should hold.... lol

If the 180 Tigger farm does well, I'll start another Tigger farm, a 125 gallon. (125 gallon is next to the 180 gallon.

I won't divulge how we get ours so red though. Telling trade secrets usually means you're willing to get fired and possible sued. Given I have signed a stack of papers saying I wouldn't and I value my job, I won't cross that line

Oh, ok. Well, several things are different, the pools/containers are different, food, just about almost everything is different...

Let me make a quick point of legal clarification. Tigger-Pods are a trademarked product produced by Reed Mariculture. If they are not produced by Reed Mariculture, they cannot be Tigger-Pods. Tigriopus californicus is a species of copepods, and Tigger-Pods are of the species TC. Long story short, this thread should really be title "My Tigriopus Pod farm diary" and all reference to Tigger-Pods are actually referring to Tigriopus. I need to point this out in order to protect our tradamark.
