My Trip To Toronto's Aquarium

So, we are on vacation in London, Ontario. Took a couple hour drive to Toronto, and ended up at Ripley's Aquarium. Right beside the CN Tower. I'd figured I would share a few phone pics of our experience.
It wasn't cheap. Our family got in for about $150 CAD.
They had a ton of tanks. Octopus, crabs, lobsters, coldwater, freshwater. A tank with massive groupers. The main massive tank had turtles, sharks, rays and huge schools of fish. Cuddlefish, piranhas, few different kinds of jellies. Horseshoe crabs you can touch. A shark tank you can crawl through.

Now for what you all want! Reef stuff. It had one huge Fowlr tank. It had triggers, tangs, surgeonfish, butterflies etc. All the kids were screaming "Dory's!" at it.

The most disappointing part was probably that the only tank that real coral in it was not very big, and not that impressive.

It was nice, but I've seen way better on this forum, and expected nicer for such a huge aquarium!

One of my favs was the anemone wall!

Anyways, it was all in all a good time, and I would recommend it to anyone in for a visit!

Great photos thanks for posting.

Wow it looks like some of those displays are pretty tightly packed with lots of big fish, except the tropical coral display.

Ya, they were pretty packed in. Here is a shot of some of the equipment

The coral tank barely had any fish, and I couldn't spot inverts either. They need to hire a local reefer and get that thing as amazing as it could be!

Looks to have been a great time. As much as I like the tank pics, I always enjoy the behind the scenes look at equipment as well.

I'm heading to Toronto in mid-August. I might check it out, not happy about the lack of corals.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

The average Joe likes fish and doesn't appreciate corals, suppose.

Love seeing sawfish, and paddlefish tank is really different to see.

Ripley's is expensive, but it really is a nice set up. I was there a couple of years ago the last time, and the reef display looks a lot better than it had been. As with all of our tanks, I'm sure it just needs a little bit of time to time to mature. I know some of the guys who work behind the scenes, and they all really know their stuff.

Definitely worth checking out. Corals or not, if you're into water life you won't be disappointed!

I won't be back in the area for a long time. Long enough that I will probably go again when I get back!

It's also right beside the CN Tower, and Rogers Center where the Blue Jays play. Great place to visit
