i went to picayune for my grandmothers funeral. on the way back i decided to check out the crystal reef in hattisburg ms.
not a bad store but the prices are way above what Memphis and kermits have.
not so much for the fish and coral but the dry goods are out of this world on prices. a bag of live sand 40lbs was 60 bucks. and Memphis is 20 bucks cheaper for the same bag. salt was high also.a 50 gal mix of oceanic was 32 bucks.
so im glad to have people like Richard and Dave. who try and keep their prices as low as they can for us.

WE are also very lucky that the Club gets the support that they do from our local vendors.

I learned a long time ago that if you really look at it, supporting your local vendors makes so much more sense that "trying to save a few pennies" on items by buying through mailorder is truly false economy on most things.

Let me put my money into the local economy that also supports our local club and I have the benefit of walking in and seeing what I buy, and getting the warranty support locally without having to pay shipping on something 2 or 3 times to try and save a few pennies.
I have said it before and will again, we are very lucky to have those two store's in our area. If they support our club locally lets support them as well!!

Memphis is a luck city for reefing. I got started with Dave back in 96 and never looked back (weekly trips up from Oxford to drool). Richard is a great guy, too, so you guys get a double whammy. Nashville's got it pretty good with their LFS support, too, but other areas are not as lucky. I'm betting there is a lot more demand in Memphis than in Hattiesburg, which probably helps with dry goods pricing some, too. If there is only one store around, you generally pay a bit more for everything.

Hattiesburg also has underwater outlet. Not sure if they have an open door store, or only internet sales?
