BTW, update about to happen.
ok, lots of pics for you guys. we'll start with the 500 dwarf cerith and 25 periwinkle cerith snails i ordered up from reefcleaners.org. very happy with what i got and john was a great resource via email before i ordered. thanks john!

floated for 15mins as per reefcleaners acclimation requirements..
here are a few after they'd been added to the tank.
and here's the best close up i could get..
note the mighty magnet f-8 which i'm very happy with. still skips a bit but as brandon suggested, there might be a bit of a learning curve to slinging these big magnets around..

it occurred to me that this thread lacks a lot of the bling you find in many other build threads. since i don't have a calcium reactor, kalk reactor, or skimmer, i thought i'd show you guys a pic of my favorite piece of equipment so far.

i got the fish room framed up, ran two 20amp circuits, and the drywall guys took care of business. note the purple drywall. it's called 'xp'. supposed to be the new hotness in terms of mold and moisture resistance.
got the room painted today but no pics yet. next up, plumbing. gotta start the break in on that deltec tub.
should i soak it in vinegar first?

got the utility sink plumbed up (well cold side anyway) and one of the double tank stands build this weekend. i'll try to get the other one done this week so i can get the plumbing to/from the tank done over the weekend. large plumbing projects are best done when the wife's out of town for the weekend ime..
vinyl baseboard sucks btw. or at least, i suck at installing it. should've stuck with wood.
placed an order for 25 nerite and 50 nassarius snails that should arrive next week. turfs are in full effect so i'll be stoked to get them.
