i think i am luckier than you guys in case of anemone...
my 6 inch blue haddoni cost me $15...

i am from india...but here we never get picasso percula or other sought after clown fish..i am waiting for 3 month to get a true percula pair here...all we get are clarkii,sebae and false percula in plenty...:sad1:
and tomato and maroon clowns are easy to find in lfs too...but they never come in mated pair..most of the store owners even don't know that mated pair exist..

if i start the story it will be very very long....so giving you a point to point gist..
1)it is illegal in india to sell coral and restricted to import marine fishs...
2)restricted means not prohibited...so you need permission..
3)getting permission from proper department require multiple bureaucratic hurdle and sometimes 'little more' in lower level..
4)even if you get one,custom will stop you at any moment and send it to quarantine...you will have too argue,prove that this particular one is not in restricted list(don't know if a original list really exist)..

we still get corals and fishes here...from locally collected...from singapore too..but i guess now you have a fair understanding that how people manage to bring it here..:wavehand:


my real point was to show how cheap these anemones actually are if you get it from the fishermen/local people...i don't thing it differs too much in indonesia or srilanka too...the original exporter easily keeps 3-4 times profit at least if not more,specially in fiji or haiti..that's my guess..

Very nice. I love it. How does mine Blue compare to yours? Lighting is different so it is difficult to compare but mine does not seem to be dark on the body as your. Still it is a great find for me because we see these once in 10 blue moons here in South Texas.
I wish I can buy stuff (reef animal) from South California.

That's one of the most stunning anemones I've ever seen. It's really a shame they can't be propagated like bubbletips!

That really is jaw dropping. I bet you paid a pretty price for that amazing animal. Congrats on keeping it successfully. It sure does add a lot to an aquarium.

Thanks for posting an update, so many people post pictures of a new anemone and we never find out if it survived and what it looked like after acclimating. Yours is truly beautiful! Minh is right, we don't get many blues in Texas

OrionN: You have a really nice blue one too. Mine had the dark body from the start. It was the blue tips against the dark background that made it really stand out from the rest of the blues that I've seen. I had to get it. :inlove:

Once settled in, it has been very hardy even through brief periods of neglect. It's currently under 400W 20K Radiums (upgraded from 250W). It really enjoys the brighter light.
