My Wrasse is a Douche

*As he is chewing madly he still guards the piece he plans to eat next so no one else can eat it.
*He eats till he can't swallow another bite, then still grabs food and swims off to hide it.
*He'll steal food from anyone. Powdered ReefRoids covered with coral mucus being slowly ingested by a Chalice coral? Wrasse will eat it right off the coral.
*Some days he's not in the mood to eat, and likes to swim around flashing. Does he leave others in peace to eat? Nope. He'll swim out of his way just to swim through the feeding area and flash and wriggle in everyone's faces making a mess by fanning the food everywhere and disrupting everyone.

He is such a douche. Love that fish!

Is this your P. mccoskeri? My Fairy/Flasher Wrasses all behave mostly the same. They all take the largest pieces of food they can get and run off behind the rockwork. Usually they come right back out without eating it to grab more. They steal food right out of my Tangs mouths. But, if they aren't hungry they generally don't go into the frenzy of feeding time in my tanks.

many of my wrasses act that way also..some take very large pieces and use the rocks to break smaller pieces off..

Funny title! Nice work! My yellow wrasse mostly takes pieces too large and slaps it against rocks to break off pieces. Favorite fish i have!

As long as we're coming clean, "My name is Mike and my mystery wrasse was a douche too." So much so that I took the little %*$tard back up to the LFS for credit! He was so hard on anything new I put in the tank. From fish to inverts he hated everyone and everything!

Ha, my mystery wrasse gets put in its place by the flame angel. The yellow coris is pretty much ignored, he's pretty chill.

Don't feel bad; it was just acting like any fish in the Pseudocheilinus genus

He should meet my Emerald carb (Jerky Mick Jerk Crab). He stays next to my BTA and steals his food from the BTA's mouth. I have to remove him every time I feed my BTA. In his spare time he likes to pick up snails and hermit crabs and throw them.
