My Wrasse is a Killer

So i have a Melanurus wrasse i believe is a killer!! I got him from a fellow reefer in my area that said he was a great consumer of red flat worm whihch i got from some new rock i had gotten. I was told he was aggressive but figured cannot be that bad. So i have been through 2 small yellow tangs, a small hippo tang, 2 six line wrasse(I like wrasse) and 2 clowns. My mandarin gobey is the only thing he will not touch and gets along fine with. I feel like :headwally:... I don't know what to put with him that he can coexist with.
Ideas?

Mine (he is at least 3 years old now I think) is currently in with an orange-spotted goby, a banded hamlet, a starry blenny, and a firefish. He has been in with an ocellaris clown, a trio of scissortail dartfish, a chalk basslet, and a tomato clown over the years without issue.

Not sure if you just happened upon a really aggressive individual.

I believe you are right. Just so happens he is aggressive. I actually watched him bull nose one of the tangs in to the glass. The mandarin goby is the only fish he has not touched.

Wow, that is hardcore! Poor tang...

You can try putting a mirror against the tank to see if he instead takes out the aggression on the reflection of himself instead of his tank mates. If not, I guess he gets to be removed (so much fun! Not).

mine is only aggressive towards my CUC and when he protects himself from my flame hawk. beyond that he is a great fish. devours flat worms for sure.

if yours it that aggressive, i would get rid of him. trade him in or make sure you get other agressive fish to put in with him. i also would have never put him in with a sixline wrasse. i dont think this is a wrasse that you should be adding if you already have wrasse in your tank. but that is just my opinion.

Yeah, I know.. I have blue infinity ocean backing on my back two panes and at times he does see himself and goes at the glass. My wife said he is the devil.LOL!! He has never touched the goby though. Although the goby was there first. When i feed him he will even nip at my finger and try to take a bite of it. I do not think he fears anything really. I relly like him and his coloring is great. I just need a fish that will stand its ground against him. If one exists.

THe sixline was as big as he is so i thought no harm no foul. Boy was i wrong. I really like the wrasse's for there personality, but damn he is a brute.

well, it sucks you got such a mean melanarus... either trade him in or get all agressive fish to go with him. like i said, mine is not that bad. he is sure a huge pig when it comes time to feed and loves to eat my clean up crew every once in awhile. but he really helped take care of my flatworm issue.
