My Yuma is not Happy

:eek1:I got this SWEET Yuma over 3 weeks ago. I acclimated it for light for 1 week and then I put it on the bottom of my 29g BC. It is attached to a rock and directly on the sand but the shroom its self is not on the sand. Nitrates 5ppm, Nitrites 0, and Ammonia 0. SG is 1.023. I have all LPS and softies no SPS. Lighting is stock PCs. I noticed in the last 3 days the mouth is WIDE open and it seems as if the tentacles are falling off.(It seems there are not as many as before) I also noticed that it is detaching its self from the rock. I tried to move it to indirect light again but im not sure thats gonna fix it. The color is still really nice and its opened up all the way. I also noticed that there are small black spots on the yuma's tentacles. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

Here is a pic of the Yuma when it looked healthy

yumas usually need more light than floridas, so if you have pc's I might try moving it higher. It will detach and try to find a better place on its own if it doesnt like its location - you may want to post in the corallimorpharian forum for more responses.

+1 for the opposite. I have only one yuma currently and aprox 20 flrida rics. I battled a problem with a bleaching unhealthy and detaching yuma and this is what I believe. Your yuma is in the acclimation process and is probly unhappy with its poition in the tank. With mine I finally found the correct positioning in a partly shaded area on he very bottom of the tank that has next to no flow. The yuma I have is super light sensative and took about 2 mos to completely heal since I recieved it in poor condition to start.

half shaded area w/ next to no flow 2 mos after recd(aprox 80% recovered)

Please note these pics are over a year old and the yuma has since achieved 100% recovery.

My yuma actually dissapeared in my nano. lifted all my tanks but no sign of anything. vortech pump doesn't show signs off any kind of flesh on it. Just take your time and acclimate it. its a good thing to have a roof or a cliff where a piece of rock can cover it from the shae. Pull the yuma out slowly over time out of the cave/roof and you'll ave a happy yuma....

i wish i knew that before mine went missing.

Thanks for the response everyone! It has officially detached completley formt he rock it was on so its now in a bottle with rubble and a net so I can get it to reattach. Ill move it into the shade and give it some time. I really hope it recovers! This thing it a really nice one.

My yuma inflate the bubble on itself and shows brown when I had it under extreme T5 and keep moving itself. Under my MH now it's starting to go back to it's normal color and form. Note that the T5 was over a very small tank only 12" deep and the yuma was probably 7" away from the light... so less light and flow
