My Zoas and Palys (Pics)

I think the pink with green skirts are asterina pinks.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :) I will post more pics when I get more Zoas for sure Felix.

Buttons, the Japanese deepwater Zoas all came from my local LFS...he gets come crazy wicked Zoas in for good prices too. One of his employees is a Zoa addict (and the one who is responsible for my new addiction), and has talked the owner into bringing in Zoas from all over the place. They sell really well since the locals here are mostly into softies and LPS. You guys should see the employee's tank!! It's a 40 gallon breeder with almost 100 Zoa and Paly varieties. It is absolutely theeeeee nicest Zoa collection I have ever seen.

Do you guys know where I can find any pics of Zoa dedicated tanks?

Here is the 40 gallon breeder you are talking about. I posted this a couple months back on this forum but needs to be shared again I think:

Thanks for the comments everyone. Most of the Zoas and Palys that I have in my collection were bought at Bayside Corals in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. :)

Thanks for the IDs, I think you guys are right with Devil's Armor and the Asterina Pinks (good call!!).

New(ish) Zoa. Is spreading nicely now...any idea on ID? They have colored up to be a bit more yellow skirted.

Nice Collection.

The ones you have listed as Lunar palys are Nuclear Greens, and the ones arent blue hornets, they are african blue steels, AOI's, African Hornets....

Hey thanks! Ack, I know they are Nuclear Greens, but for some reason I always call them Lunars. I have Lunars too. :D

What is the difference between the Blue Steel and Blue Hornet? I have looked online, and can't tell the difference. Some sites suggest Blue Steel and Blue Hornet are the very same Zoa. The LFS I bought them at had both advertised (from the same aquaculture suppler), and I was told I took the Blue Hornet, not the Blue Steel, even though I couldn't tell the difference. He suggested the Hornet would be easier to care for, and so far they are spreading well.

Ahhhh...ok, I can see the difference now thanks! The Blue Hornets are much nicer!!

Those red japanese deep waters are nice! Wanna ship a polyp to California? (only partly kidding)

I have some orange deepwaters that look just like those, just orange hehe.

Nice collection!

Thanks! Actually, I wouldn`t mind sending some...we could try to do a trade. As long as they are on a man-made frag plug smaller than 1 inch they can go across the border. I just moved that colony and it bleached a bit, but if you`re interested in the spring when the weather is warmer (it`s frosting up here already) send me a PM and we can give it a go!

I've got the Orange Deepwaters on a small plug, has two polyps now. Lets do it. I'll try to remember to hit you up in the spring. By that time there should be a few more. Cody

Ok, I will do the same thing. Mine spread well, so I will wait a bit to frag it or it will overgrow the plug!
