My Zoas Need Your Help

One of my button polyps in my colony has been acting really funny. Over the past couple of days, it has been closed up really tight. Today, it appears that there is brown jelly around the top of the polyp. What should I do to prevent further spreading. Could I cut the base off so that it is no longer a threat to the other polyps.

If you are suspecting a single polyp is bad, you can remove it from the colony. I don't know what the mysterious jelly substance is.

Go check over in the Zoanthids board, might get some ideas there.

you are mentioning buttom polyps and zoos in the same context here---they are not the same item
which do you mean

and how close are they to other coral that might be able to sting them

I had the brown jelly on a Kenya Tree-- I just cut off the affected area and the rest was fine.
