MyGHL!

Allright, we got lots of questions about MyGHL and I would like to share some information here - it happened a lot in the last weeks!

Just to remind you:
MyGHL is a cloudbased service for controlling and setting up certain GHL devices.
The user creates an account on the MyGHL website, registers his devices and is able to access the devices from every location in the world with internet-access via webbrowser.

The first device which can be used with MyGHL will be the GHL Doser 2, ProfiLux 3 and Mitras will follow after a short while.

Questions and answers:
Q: When can I use MyGHL with my GHL Doser 2?
A: We are in the final stage of testing, I assume that this will be the case beginning of 2015.

Q: Which other devices will be supported?
A: ProfiLux 3 and Mitras LX

Q: When will MyGHL be available for them?
A: Unfortunately I don't have an exact date yet, our goal is February 2015

Q: Why can't you be faster?
A: We are very well aware that many customers are looking forward to MyGHL and are anxious for it. However, safety and quality of the software have first priority at GHL, we are not going to release something with potential risks. Especially cloudbased services can be critical, so we ask you for your understanding that we have to work very carefully. Nobody wants his tank as a target for hackers.

Q: Do I have to update the firmware?
A: Yes, to be able to use the MyGHL services a modified firmware is necessary.

Here are some screenshots for the MyGHL user interface for the GHL Doser 2:

Note - I have had this forum cleaned.

To address some the main argument prior to deletion.

1. Why do GHL take so long to launch software?
GHL already discussed this, when you bring out a web based product it has to be secure. GHL need time to test this.

However that does not answer completely the removed posts in regards to why so long, shooting themselves in the foot yahdayahdayahda :(

Many of you are new to GHL and may not be aware the company does NOT just make controllers for aquariums for the USA, they are a global brand covering every corner of the globe for 15 years now. It also makes state of the art testing software and other software for the automotive industry. GHL also have an accessory list of over 200 products for their controller. So development is spread out over multiple products. For example

ProfiLux
ProfiLux Outdoors
Doser 2
Mitras
Mitras LB
T5 lighting

Not all prooducts available in North America so I understand the thought GHL are just a controller company and should be focussing solely on "your" controller needs. As this is not the case development will take longer, I am sorry for that but its the case and will not change.

The light at the end of the tunnel
In the last 18 months I have seen GHL employ a good handful of "controller software" developers, and this is where GHL is coming from!

The future is bright (If you have this short term patience)

Posting here is not going to speed up development, GHL can only work as fast as they can, I am sure we are all educated enough not to think GHL are dragging their feet just for fun. It is logical sense to get these products to market, and I am sorry if a few on the original unedited thread felt it should be sooner.

It will come when it comes and debating it here is NOT going to make it sooner.

Sincerely
Michael
