mysterious fish death after several months

My purple firefish died all of a sudden yesterday, after ~6 months :(

It seemed to be doing just fine, then yesterday morning I found it floating listlessly in the water. All paramaters are ok - other inhabitants include - yellow tang, blue hippo, six-line, 2 chromis, bicolor blenny, two perculas - it's a 90 G with lots of live rock. The two perculas have been with me for almost 3 years, blue hippo almost 2 years. The only thing I can think of is that I moved a galaxea coral a bit closer to its burrow, but that's it - I don't think a galaxea could sting to death a fish that size.

This happened to my coral beauty also awhile back - after ~3 months all of a sudden one day, it was dead.

I'm wondering how often you all experience sudden fish deaths after a few months that you have a hard time explaining? I realize it could be due to the way their caught, slow diseases, even old age, etc. but wondering what others have experienced.

Thanks for any input.

I feel certain deepwater fish don't last as long with temps >80. This leads to unexplained deaths where the fish look fine.

Collection method maybe for the 3 mo death. Last thought would be internal parasites.

Possibly the six-line wrasse intimidated it.

i find it unlikely, since they were getting along fine for the 6 months. unless that morning the six-line decided to become a bully and i failed to notice.

the temp theory is an interesting one. since it's summer my tank temp ranges from 81-83 now. corals are all ok, but perhaps some effect on certain fish species...
