I recently got a batch of live rock for my 75 gallon reef that i'm setting up. There are to of these little guys hitchhiking. What are they? One local fish place is calling them tulip anemones.
If they are green with pink tips, they are indeed tulip anemones. Cool looking, but spread kinda fast and sting some corals. Most people consider them a pest like majano anemones. A better pic would definitely help.
Hm. I would hold off on buying too many. Just cause we don't know of a pest like that doesn't mean there isn't one and I would hate to screw you over with bad advice. If they grow to 2 inches or so, they're BTAs. If they don't get any bigger and start multiplying, you can send me a couple for my junk tank and kill the rest while there are only a couple of them.
It looks like a majano. I have had a few in the past that were really cool looking but they will over run a tank asap so kill it so you do not run into problems in the future.
Bummer. Send me one? I got tulip anemones, and these look like the exact opposite, so it would be fun to have them side by side.. I hope they are not too much trouble in your 20g.
