Mystery hitch hiker.

So I was repositioning a dead sps coral that has some Zoas on it I bought at my fish store and low and behold I discovered that a lot of what I had thought where small branches of the dead coral where small clams. I wasn't sure if it could be bad since I'm fairly new to the hobby so I removed them(8) and have them sitting in a bucket I don't mind keeping them as long as they are safe. Please let me know what u think. Thank you.

This is what they hitch hiked in on

I have had similar clams come in as hitchhikers and I leave them in my system. They don't appear to bother anything and just feed from the water column. Even have a couple green mussels come in as HH as well.

Aye your lucky. Free clams! Those are some unique ones too. They're fine and won't harm anything. They live well with corals and require the same lighting and filter feed and everything so they should be fine survival-wise. I'd get them into the tank soon though because they'll need the light. Some are more delicate than others, so they may struggle depending on how new your tank is but hey, they were free.
