Mystery snail ID please?

First I thought it was a conch of some sort. I did have them at some point but my hermits long since took them out for their shells. I've played with I'd sights fir 1/2 a day now...

best shots I could get of it. It came out of the sand bed from my main tank, and I haven't put anything new in there in ages...

Its in what will be a planted tank, currently mucking around in the sand bed. just shy of an inch long.

conch or whelk of some sort. he looks very much like an onion to me lol

It does look like an onion, which usually means it's a Rapa species. They are coral eaters, but if you are going to have it in a planted tank without corals, it might not be a problem.

theres some brown polyps in there, but he is welcome to them. Can't get rid of them any other way...LOL

I googled them and I am pretty certian thats what it is. Thank you.
