A fellow club member is attempting to sell me a young mystery wrasse for a good price. He told me that the fish doesnt have the common 5 whhite bar pattern nor the pronounced yellow head with white lines. He is claiming that it is a juvenile mystery wrasse and has not developed the trade mark lines. Is this true of these fish? that over time as they mature they gain the lines and coloration? he also can not produce a picture...he is within driving distance however if the fish isnt going to change then Im not interested in a poorly colored wrasse for any deal.

"yes, it resembles that. i just doesn't have the lower jaw pink line coloration yet. the pink lines on the forehead are there. but the yellow doesn't go that far back yet. i think it will come with time."
other comments on the wrasse by him
"he has the facial markings just not as many as the adult. i can't really get any good pics of him. i suck at taking pictures and my camera sucks which makes for an awful combination. if you want you can come see him in my tank to see what he looks like when he isn't all stressed out and bagged. he is about 2.5 inches. very healthy he eats like a pig, thats how i can catch him so easily. he will eagerly swim into my trap with some mysis in it."
