Mystery Wrasse

That guy...
I'm looking at picking up an adult Mystery Wrasse from a guy tearing down his reef tank. Anything special I should know about this fish? He is asking $70.
What would you value this fish at?

My LFS has a couple for $90 so I would get the "used" one;) The only concern I would have is if the fish has a history with shrimp or inverts if you have them. They are beautiful fish!

I have no personal experience but I've heard they can get aggressive as they get larger. From what I've seen, $70 is a good price for one.

Had one for years it was a model citizen, $70 is a great price I think I paid $100 for mine. They do like shrimp and hermits tho

It's been in a 155g tank for a while now. I'd be putting it into my 75g. The comments above make me concerned that it will eat my hermits and shrimpers! Maybe this is the reason when I asked if he had any hermits for sale he said he couldn't find anymore! Sounds like I should not get it. Which wrasses do not eat hermits and shrimp?

Fairy and flasher wrasses, pygmy wrasses among others.

Found him! He is a little stressed so his color is kind of funky.

He has been really active and swimming around the tank a lot over the past couple days but now he disappeared on me again. Can't find him anywhere. I checked every nook and cranny. I checked the floor to make sure he didn't get startled and jump out. I even checked my overflow, filter sock and sump. I don't know if I like him scampering off and hiding. He is probably in the rock work some of you said he won't go in the sand but seriously if you have seen my rock work there aren't a lot of places to hide. He is so mysterious...

The back of my tank is open. I swear this guy jumped out and I sucked him up with the shop vac. There was something behind the tank on the floor that I sucked up earlier and I couldn't make out what it was...I dug through the shop vac bag 4 times looking for him. I'm pathetic...but I have read these guys are jumpers so if he is still in the tank I should probably get a screen covering.
