Mystic,CT Aquarium ... meh, it was OK

In Memoriam
I went to CT this weekend to hang with some friends after a snowboarding Finals race in New Hampshire. Swong down to Mystic Seaport CT, and stipped in the aquarium.

Was nice, but smallish. Some exhibits were boring, and they have this "3D" ride in which it ends with you being swallowed by a dinosaur underwater in a sub. ( LAME !!!!)

As tot eh fish and reeef tanks, they were fairly nice. Actualy I was amazed how one of the tanks very closely (almost creepy so) mirrored the EXACT species of corals in my personal 37 gallon tank with the addition of some pimple mushrooms ( Tony at Swamp bottom has some for me actualy that are planned to go in my tank as of lastmonth when he fragged the mother rock) and some very large "Grand Polyps" that I was drooling over ( Carribbean only Sp. and rare) I asked for a frag from the display, but they declined ( but I got a contact number for possible frag ;) )

All in all: Worth 18.00 for entry fee for a destination trip = NO.

A good side trip= Yes.

you should have hooked up with Justin Credibel..... he has a band that plays most sunday nights in Mystic.... I am guessing, but you prob would have liked the music.

anyhow, are you going to NIN???? Bauhaus playing is unreal...

nah, NIN sucks now that Trent is off the drugs. I got their "WITH TEETH" album the day it came out.

I wanted to get my money back an hour and 12 minutes later.

Can't say I agree at all.... heard the live show is incredible- I'll let you know what you missed. Will probabably be my last chance to see them, and only chance to see bauhaus (which were one of my early musical influences- 20 years ago).

What better will be coming through town this summer???

Just curious.

I donno, I'm off to Miami Florida and the caribbean June 1-15th and will be seeing DJ TIESTO and DOBOY, and that will be kick ***. I may even get to see Paul Oakenfold if his tour comes closeenough to NYC.
