N00b Q.

hi.. im new.. to this site and to keeping fish.

will cleaner shrimp, and say, hermit crabs get along fine with each other? and what about a small porcupine puffer and a starfish? And how about all four of those things together?

There are many here with more experience than I but...

I added 10 hermits and 1 peppermint shrimp (cleaner) and a brittle starfish to a 29G tank last week and all of them are getting along just great.

I am new to the hobby too.

oh boy... i really dont want the puffer to eat all my other stuff.. thats upsetting. if i keep it fed properly will it reduce likelyhood of him making a meal out of his tank friends? is there anything else i can do..

I noticed your signature says you have a 10 gallon. Is the puffer in the 10? If so, that is WAY too small for him. Even if it fits right now, it will quickly outgrow that small of an aquarium. Unless you can afford a much larger tank in the net 3 months you should consider returning it and getting something that will live comfortably in your tank. Check out www.liveaquaria.com for nano fish to find some that are better suited to your aquarium.

So what is the smallest size tank recommended for a puffer? Or does it depend on the puffer species?
