Naked clowns Help me decide

I have a 12 JBJ that I have been setting up as a nano reef. I have been waiting for the perfect fish to put in there and was not planning on putting in clowns since I already have a pair in my 55. However my LFS just got in a pair of young naked clowns For $40. I almost pulled the trigger today but I was hoping for sombody to convince me that these are the perfect fish or otherwise.

HELP!! Convince me one way or another

I have fallen in love with the nakeds, unfortunately we downsized and went with black percs cuz we got a "deal" anyway nakeds are awesome and usually considerably more pricey especially at lfs's

wow.. at least around here, the naked clowns are less money than the black and whites. Sometimes the b+w's are as much as 2x more.

To the OP, go for them, if you think you'll like them!

Clowns will grow on you! I can't get rid of my pair, even though they are starting to take over the tank, and try to bite me almost every time I stick my hand in there!

I have a pair of naked clowns in my AP12 and love them. They have lots of character and fun to look at. For the price you can't go wrong as well.

You got to ask what's important to you. For me, I like impressing others with my tank. If I impress others than I impress myself. The fact is, I'd be willing to be that if you lined up all amphiprion, most non-reefers would ogle the plain old occelaris the most. Its Nemo, after all.

However, most reefers that have been doing it for a few years or more find that they have to do things to keep the hobby exciting. New challenges, different critters, and I think this is where the appeal of picassos, naked, latz etc. come in.

So you have to ask yourself where you are at. I wouldn't trade the joy of my little kids telling their friends that they have Nemo for anything. But if my objectives were different - say breeding and making cash - then I'd go for something that fetches the highest price.

I have a naked and cant stop loving my little pumpkin pie... have had a gold striped in the past and this naked is the funnest to watch hes full of energy..
