I've seen a few different builders on ebay. I know there are a couple of them out of the LA area but I don't have a link. I would try a search on that site that you mentioned

You will likely be better off finding a local builder or a used tank. By the time it's shipped it's not going to be cost effective.

well i don't really know anyone local..and the tank i want is a 40 breeder RR..but apparently stores don't sell them reef ready and i didn't want to drill it...so i was going to see if i could find a reasonable tank on ebay around that size...-Drew

I am just wondering, from the tank you have in your sig, its not much of an upgrade, is there a reason you are getting rid of the current tank?
Seems to an awful lot of money for 3 inches of depth.

I would defenatly buy a 40B tank and a holesaw bit and go to drilling away.

not an upgrade i like the gallons i am dealing with and equipment i have will be fine for the new tank..just selling because my current tank is scratched beyond repair and HATE staring at it..dang acrylic!im thinking i may go this route but i will have it drilled by a proffesional..-Drew

If you want a excellent tank with a five year warranty, give Krittertanks.com a try.

They are located in the SF Bay Area and they make the best tanks. I've seen them in person and they are built like a Sherman tank. They use the best acrylics and their workmanship is excellent.

I just ordered a sump from him. It was ordered on the 16th and shipped on the 23rd UPS says it will be here on the 29th so I cannot comment on build quality yet. He was quite easy to deal with I wanted something custom so I PM'd him we spoke on the phone and the total was about $100 less than I was expecting.

I have 2 tanks from him, a small frag tank looks great and a larger tank (48x24x16) the seams look good but where he routered the euro-brace on the top is all scratched up. We talked a few times thru e-mail and he said he would call me to talk about it but that never happened, its been about a month since I last heard from him.

Good reason, a 40B is a great tank size, but i havent seen any offered in RR from any of the major manufactures

if you are still looking for a tank builder. let me know i know of a guy out of Minnesota that is reasonable priced and does excellent work. He has done all my sumps for me.

I ordered a sump and a frag tank from glasscages.com and was really happy. They are good prices and will get you things pretty fast.
