A nana all the way. Got three heads in my tank.

Both are what I would guess on, leaning towards valida. The best thing to do is research the lineage for concensus. It appears to be a tri color so the popular ones I would start with. GARF Tricolor is an old one which is a valida.

azurea is another closely related one. Given the size of the frag, and the distance from the piece its hard to tell for certain, but without disecting a piece of it, it is difficult to tell with any certainty. Morphology from tank to tank is another factor.
If you post it on the SPS Id forum, you will probably come up with the common ones we have mentioned, but would be interesting to see what else is suggested.
At the very least, it has nice coloration, good job!!

I have a couple few nana colonies. One of them has tighter pack polyps like the images abouve and the other is growing fast and looks like the thread starters images. morphology does play a big role as stated. Lemme dig up some photos of mine.

The one on the bottom right looks like a possibliity, the one center looks like another specie. The longer, irregular coralites is what makes me think so. Which one, can't be sure.
The reason I say, is that there are like 130 different ones and we only hear of a few dozen names being thrown around, which makes me suspicious if we are correct.

Yeah. Marine biologists scoff at us reefers for not viewing the dead skeleton under a microscope to determine specie.
