hi i have the ato situated in my tank. I postion it where i want it then position the second magnet on the back then it makes the float go lob sided it doest sit straight, because its lobsided it doest freely move up and down the shaft my tank is level so that doesnt seem to be the problem.

also unsure how far the float should be in the water the instructions are not clear.

Just to be clear, does the entire magnet and float rotate to the side or is the bobber leaning on the post? If it is rotating, the magnets are not exactly lined up, the outside one is cocked so the inside one spins so the magnets line up, inside the magnet holder are two magnets that will need to be lined up so the poles are matched. If the bobber is leaning on the post, the glass is too thin and the magnetic field is attracting the bobber, the black ring inside it is a magnet. A shim between the outer magnet and glass will solve that, an 1/8" thick sheet of plastic or rubber would be ideal.

The float will stop the flow of water when it is raised, it will add water when it is lowered, you want to set it so it is raised near the top of the post at the water level you want to maintain.

so i set it so the bobber just sits above the water line?

The water level will be just about 2 mm below the base of the nut at the end of the travel of the float.

I should clarify, where the bobber top is 2mm from the base of the nut.

Not sure is there a diagram to refer to? also i tried packing out the magnet to stop it affecting the float but it still pulls it to one side. I dont get the understanding of this design, was this not thought about furing the design phase, it just makes a very poor product.

Is it possible to post a photo, I am not clear on whether the bobber is leaning on the magnet or the entire post is turning side to side? Pages 32-33 of the manual explain the switching level.
