Nano Cleaner 3165 Pump

I have an older 3165 with the nano pump (pretty sure it is before 2009). It's been rattling for a while even though it still works. A thorough cleaning didn't clear things up. I think I will just get a new pump. Can I use the 1073.008 or do I have to go with the nano (0800.04) again?

Is there any retrofit needed to use the 1073.008?

The 1073.008 will work in an older 3165, the usual cause of a 0800.040 getting noisy will be the shaft is not pressed in all the way and possibly the impeller is worn. I would push hard on the shaft with something like the butt of a small screwdriver and get it fully seated and see if that helps before giving up on it and a new impeller is about $8, part 0800.042.
