Nano Cube 12DX problems

I bought my son a Nano cube 12 about 2 weeks ago. Put LS and cured LR in it along with a bristle starfish. I was going to let it cycle for about a month, before doing anything else to it. There is a small amount of hair algae growing on the rock so I put 1 red legged hermit from my 30g to keep it at bay. Well this morning he decided the crab and starfish needed some food, so he put a pinch of food in the tank(big pinch). I know this will probably screw the cycle up, so my question is what should I do? Make a couple of water changes, 10% every couple of days and put a couple of more hermits in, to keep the algae down?
Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "cured LR." If you purchased it online, it won't be cured when you receive it, unless it was shipped in water. Take the starfish and crab out and monitor your water parameters until you have undetectable ammonia and nitrite and your nitrate is <10. Deal with the algae at that time.
