I have one.
If you get one clean it a lot otherwise they aren't effective.
IMO UV's importance goes down with better husbandry and QT procedures.
I took mine off the reef and put it on the QT tank.

What are you looking to accomplish with this UV sterilizer?
Generally they're used to combat green water as well as kill microscopic pathogens in the water. This generally isn't a problem with smaller tanks (and moreso reefs in general), and regular water changes can helpabout as much without the additional equipment. Generally they're used more in FOWLR and FO systems that are fairly heavily stocked and use a trickle filtration system.
