Nano DOC 9002 Skimmer

Bought this skimmer for my setup and am mulling over ideas for placing it between the baffles behind the false wall on my custom tank.

So I'm wondering if the skimmer will function properly if I set it on the rails as shown in the picture (assuming I set them at the correct height for the water level)? Additionally, if I needed to raise the height of the skimmer while sitting on the rails between the baffles as pictured, could I place egg crate under the skimmer without affecting performance?

Hi Andrew,

This should work if the baffles are not firm against the skimmer as the skimmer exchanges water from the bottom rim (edge) so as long as this is not blocked water exchange will be achieved.
