Nano pump issue

I replaced the old Tunze pump with the Tunze 800.04 nano pump for my 9002 skimmer. Has performed well since I put the new pump online this year and was working as late as last night. Today when I got up I see the skimmer is not making foam and upon investigation the pump motor is humming and the impeller is spinning but pump is not pushing water. Your help is appreciated

Check that the impeller is not stuck to the metal shaft and the metal shaft is fully inserted in the pump (push on it after removing the impeller). Make sure the impeller is still fused to the magnet, these can break free, usually from fine debris grinding through the base plastic piece on the magnet so it is cut free leaving a cut up dime sized grey plastic base, a magnet core and a shaft with impeller that will separate.

Impeller is not stuck to metal shaft
Metal shaft is fully inserted
Not sure what you mean by third notation but metal shaft does not move either direction in magnet. No play whatsoever. Only movable part is the blue blades connected to plastic shaft being able to slide off metal shaft. Blue blades are bonded to plastic shaft as well

The blue blades and magnet should be all one piece, yes, you could pry off the blue blades but it should not strip down any further than that. You should have a motor with a shaft in it and a 6 blade impeller on a magnet, if the plastic shaft that the impeller is on can be pulled out of the magnet, the impeller is broken.

This is what I have. Let me know what problem is and resolution. The metal shaft and what it is attached to inside pump does not move.

Great. Thanks. Doing a 25% WC today to help out the nutrient build up over the last few days. What I can't do is get the magnet out. It is frozen in there. Any ideas Roger?

Wrap a towel around the pump, not too tight, with a throwing motion suddenly stop so the magnet flies out and is caught in the towel. If it is not completely seized this should get it out. If you have a big open area with no windows where no one can get hurt, you can omit the towel, it is just their to catch the magnet. If this does not work, soak it in vinegar overnight and try again.

I will try that Roger but I used a pair of pliers on the protruding shaft a couple days ago and it didn't budge. I think I will soak in vinegar irregardless and do it first

The shaft is not connected to the magnet, the metal shaft is embedded in the motor. The magnet is around that and just spins on it. The throwing motion is the best way to get it out.

I sent you a PM. Please read and let me know as soon as possible so I can address issue if necessary. Thanks
