*** Nano Remora Help***

I recently bought a remora nano and it fits great on my 15g. I set it up this morning before work to see how it would fuction. While I wasn't excepting any foam as I was leaving the house in 10 mins. I did notice that the system is very loud. Mostly from the bubbles. Is this just a break in period, or the real deal? Any help is well appreciated! thank you.

its probaly still geting broken in. It could take up to 2 weeks to break in a skimmer fully.

I got about 3 weeks of massive amounts of bubbles and VERY loud noise from it. Once it gets a nice layer of slime it will run a lot better and quieter.

they are not one of the quietest skimmers in the whole world. The pump is going crazy just out of the box. Give it some break in time, then you'll be happy with it. Also, you may want to try and put the skimmer on a timer. That way it turns on about 1 hour before you go to bed and turns off when you wake up. This only works if you don't have the tank in your bedroom. But really, if the noise is bothersome, then jsut only run it when you are not around.

Dont forget that theres the paper towel trick. Fold up a paper towel, maybe a half of one in this case, and place it in the chamber right above the injection. This will muffle the sound a bit. Doesnt silence it completely but does help reduce the noise considerably.
