nano sps in the works

picked up a 10g from scotts, 2 m900s.

this will be a fishless bb sps ONLY tank.


i saw an sps tank in the nano forums and im hoping itll work.


anyone got frags?

Well it looks like I might be cutting up a Encrusting Hydnophora. This is a pretty fast growing SPS, would you be interested in that? Its Green

Yea, that hydnophora is nice. I got a frag and it is a very bright green and already growing in my tank.

Well there is Encrusting and there is branching. What I have is encrusting, and it just grows over things instead of growing out in cool little branches like you might expect a SPS to do. I got two small frags of this stuff, and now each is the sive of half a football. One has attached to the glass and is not covering an area of about 8 inches in diameter.

So I want to make sure you know what you will be getting before I cut this big *** coral up.

What are you lighting this SPS tank with, and what skimmer are you using?

Coralife fixture
48" 492 watt
2-150 watt HQI
2-96 watt
3-1 watt moonlights

oh and its not an SPS tank, it just has a few SPS that are taking up room and have gotten big.

no fish so i wont have a skimmer, gonna get a viper 150w hob light or maybe the aqua ocean light thing that the totm has.

its gonna have vigorous flow so i doubt i could keep any fish safely, maybe an achiles tang :lol:
