#%& nano stream clamp tabs

Icefire

Seasoned reefer
I got a 1st batch 6025, 2 tabs broke by itself in the night, got a replacement from Xenia.

Shaft broke (1st batch prob), got a new motor.

Tonight I took the exterior magnet and lowered it by 2 inch as my flow was too high. Then when the pump finally followed the magnet, the clamp dropped from the magnet, 3 tabs missing again.

Tunze should think about changing their clamp design. It royally sucks.

I'm gonna either glue the clamp to the magnet or just glue a nylon nut under the magnet and use a nylon bolt thru the clamp.
I need to send the broken shaft pump back to Xenia and pay the shipping for a recall.

For a 90$ pump, a Tunze, I'm a bit upset.. I'm thinking I need 600 more gph flow and might just get a 55$ Koralia.

Hi Icefire,

I am sorry to hear you received one of the faulty magnetic mounts, Tunze Germany are working hard to resolve this issue, the upside is being a small company we can respond to issues as they arise. Please contact the store you purchased the pump for prompt replacement and if purchased in Canada you can also contact the distributor at this link http://tunze.com/kontakt.html?&L=1&C=CA If you have any difficulties please contact me directly and I would be happy to follow through for you with Tunze.

Best Regards
Graeme

I can confirm we are working on a redesign but it will take a couple months to implement.

Will the redesing be a free upgrade as I guess it will cost less than a clamp every 2 months.

I guess I'll try some super glue for now.

If they break the new design will be sent as a replacement when it is available. I would not use super glue, use hot glue or an adhesive that will be easy to remove when you get a replacement.

Loctite 2 part epoxy...I epoxied mine together right out of the box after my first one broke a couple months ago. Why might I want to ever take them apart again anyhow??

Love my 2 6045's and 6025!!

GREAT flow in my 100g reef!
