Hi Roger. I recently noticed that Tunze has developed a new Nano Stream line. I’ve been wanting to try a Tunze pump for some time now, but my current tank was a bit too small for the larger Tunze models. Well I’m debating which model I should buy and was hoping you could help me decide. My tank is a 46 gallon bow front (36 inches long, 16 deep). It is a bare bottom set up, so sand storms are no concern of mine. My flow set up consists of two Seio 820s and one 350 magnum canister filter. I also keep my pumps running at full force 24/7 and plan to do the same with the Nano streams. I have a picture of my tank in my gallery to help you decide which model would be best for the application.
My goal is to increase the total flow of the tank, but I have never seen the Nano Streams in action, so I don’t have any real comparisons between them and the Seios. I did have duel Seio 1100s in my tank at one point, the flow did seem nice, but couldn’t bare looking at a pump that large or dealing with the extra wattage/heat. The 6045 sounds good if the numbers hold true in comparison to the Seios. However I’m leaning toward two 6055s, but since I will not be using a controller I’m wondering if that will be too great of an increase for my tank to withstand. And last question are these pumps overly noisy in comparison to standard aquarium pumps? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike
